At present, there are large number of Filipinos who are becoming entrepreneurs, from being an employee to being full-time business owner. This is a clear indication that Philippine economy is getting better; more competitive products and services will be available in the market and more jobs for the Filipino people. And the simplest and easiest way to register a business is by forming a Sole Proprietorship.
Sole Proprietorship is a business structure owned by an individual who has full control/authority of its own and owns all the assets, personally owes and answers all liabilities or suffers all losses but enjoys all the profits to the exclusion of others.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is the primary coordinative, promotive, facilitative, and regulatory arm of the Philippine Government with the country’s trade, industry, and investment activities. One of its principal front-line service is the Business Name (BN) Registration for sole proprietorship.
For your reference, the law governing the registration of business name is RA No. 3883, as amended by RA No. 41476 and RA No. 863, otherwise known as the Business Name Law.
